Summary : SharePoint 2013 Task list – Task Timeline, Subtask, Indent, Task Views, Create Tasks, SubTasks, Timeline in SharePoint 2013
This is complete tutorial about the new features in SharePoint 2013 Task list. In continuation with my post earlier about Creating a New Task, Editing Tasks, Adding Tasks to Timeline and more.. In this post we will look at Creating Subtask, adding it to task Timeline, Creating views, and about all the new views available in new Task list.
Timeline has been introduced in SharePoint 2013 to add a new functionality taken from MS project server to display timeline of the Tasks. Users have ability to display or remove tasks or subtasks from the timeline. See the detailed post The New TimeLine and Project Summary WebPart in SharePoint 2013
How to Add a Task in Timeline – When you create a task click on “…” to open task preview window. Here you can select “Add to Timeline” to add the task to the above timeline. You can remove it same way with “Remove from timeline”. For details see previous post
To create a subtask select a Task and click on “…” the preview pane. Next click on “CREATE SUBTASK”
and once you click on “CREATE SUBTASK” the new task list is put on edit mode.. You can simply create a subtask here and then click on new row to save the changes. This is how it looks when you create a subtask. Click on All Task view to go back to the Original view.
Notice that the new subtask is Indented… Indent is a new cool feature introduced in Task and Timeline.
