Hide columns in the lists using Dataview Webpart

I have a custom list which has some 200 entries.So i want to view only few of those entries.It should be done by using Dataview Webpart.How can i do it??

Hello anthoshreddy,

If you open the dataview webpart in SharePoint designer where you can Add/Remove columns that you want to show in the current view. see the screen below

 

Or you can modify the XSLT to remove the not required columns.

hello, you can use  SharePoint Web Parts to hide SharePoint columns or set some different views to resolve the problem. Permissions can even be defined using conditions, so that the values of certain fields determine permissions dynamically.
